I was in Venice in mid February of 2020 for a photography workshop, and the project our instructor gave us was called “The Venetians.” Venice is a city that is completely overrun with tourists almost all of the time, however, behind the busy tourist areas is a quiet city and a local population that is extremely colorful. Fur coats. Little dogs with sweaters. Hats. A strong sense of style. These locals were a stark contrast to the tourists who were in Venice for Carnevale.

All images shot with Sony A7RII and lightly edited in Lightroom.
